The wrestling team looking fierce for a photo before the day gets started on their debut tournament of the 2023 season. Coach Medina states, “As a team we need to continue to foster the belief that we can and will make this happen. Wrestling is a grueling sport. It’s not for the faint of heart. But if we continue to push each other and believe in one another the sky’s the limit. We will look to learn and grow from our matches throughout the year and look to peak right for regionals and state. We will harp on technique, fill whatever holes we have in our game and WE WILL be ready. We are just getting started.”

Coach Prime: A Community Inspiration

The new coach of the CU Buffs means more than football to Frederick

Deion Sanders is currently the head coach of the CU football team in Boulder, Colorado. He was formerly a professional football and baseball player — he played in the NFL for 14 seasons and he played in the MLB for 9 seasons.

Although he is quite famous for his sports history, he is more than just football to a lot of people. He has accepted an informal role with UC Health promoting active lifestyles, he ran a summer youth camp, and his unconventional methods and motivational statements have made him an inspiration to youth, sports fans, and Black athletes and coaches nationwide.

Here is a clip of Sanders sharing what has led him to become a mentor for so many, as well as how some of the staff and students at FHS have been affected by him.
