In North America on December 5th, Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution Arc first aired in theatres blowing fans away with new character designs and a new art style. The reaction for the trailer for Jujutsu Kaisens new movie was very mixed by fans. Most complained about the art style and how they have replaced a usual detailed art style to a more fast paced and active style to adapt to the scenes.
This moment kicks the movie into motion causing most of the events afterwards. The A plot of the movie is main character Yuji Itardori (from events caused by the first 2 seasons of Jujutsu Kaisen) puts Yuji on execution and putting Yuta Okkotsu (Main character of the first Jujutsu Kaisen movie, Jujutsu Kaisen zero) as executioner. The movie then consists of fast paced fight scenes and slow plot development for the up and coming season of Jujutsu Kaisen: Culling game.
Yuta Okkotsu also has a new redesign giving him a more threatening and intimidating design opposed to his previous less threatening design. This is consistent with the manga who also gave him a redesign after his unseen Africa training arc.
The movie is overall well made and has amazing frames both pulled from the manga and new frames that keep the show fast paced and easier to comprehend than the manga does.
Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution Arc has a slow and nicely paced start making the watcher feel the slow and burning sadness that Yuji feels after the Shibuya arc. The movie has an amazing whiplash pace giving the watcher many moments of worry, sadness, slowness and fear. The movie makes the viewer feel as if they are a fellow Jujutsu sorcerer, and feel like they are living in the movie.
Besides that, Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution Arc doesn’t really change anything from the usual Shonen anime style. The season leading up after the movie is highly anticipated and has viewers very excited. Especially ones that read the manga and are big fans of the series.
