The search for 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie, the mother of Today show co-host Savannah Guthrie, has entered a fifth week with no confirmed trace of where she is or where she may have gone.
Nancy was last seen at her home in the Catalina Foothills near Tucson, Arizona, on the evening of January 31, 2026. She was reported missing the next day, February 1, after she failed to attend a planned church gathering with her friends. Family members say this was unusual behavior for her, which quickly raised concerns and led to authorities being contacted.
The Pima County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation with assistance from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Investigators believe Nancy may have been taken from her home against her will sometime during the early morning hours.
Law enforcement officials reported that drops of her blood were found on her porch, which made the situation even more serious. In addition, surveillance footage from nearby security cameras showed a masked individual standing at her front door on the night she disappeared.
Investigators are still reviewing this footage and trying to determine the person’s identity and whether they are connected to Nancy’s disappearance.
At this time, there has been no confirmed proof of life and no clear indication of where Nancy might be. Authorities say they are continuing to follow every lead that comes in and are asking the public to share any information that might help with the investigation.
Savannah Guthrie and her family have announced a reward of 1 million dollars for any information that helps lead to Nancy’s recovery. The FBI is also offering an additional reward of 100,000 dollars. In a recent Instagram message, Savannah wrote that she feels the “love and prayers” coming from the community. She thanked people for their support and asked them to “please don’t stop praying and hoping with us” as the search continues.
On March 2, 2026, Savannah, her sister Annie, and her brother-in-law visited Nancy’s home for the first time since her disappearance. During the visit, they placed yellow flowers, ribbons, and crosses near the entrance of the property as a small memorial and sign of hope.
The FBI and the Pima County Sheriff’s Office continue to follow tips, analyze surveillance footage, and expand the investigative task force working on the case. While no arrests have been announced, law enforcement says the investigation is still active and ongoing. Officials continue to urge anyone with possible information to contact authorities immediately.
