London Smith’s senior year has been packed with memorable moments, challenges, and big dreams. When asked about the highlight of her year so far, she didn’t hesitate,“Going to the football games.”
It’s those simple traditions that make the school year feel special and bring everyone together. Their spirit brought the whole community together, whether it was cheering in the stands or celebrating victories. Football games are something London Smith will always remember.
While there have been many memories and friends made, London’s journey through high school hasn’t all been easy. London shared that taking harder classes, especially bio-med, was a real challenge. “To overcome it, I’ve always just had to study a lot. It’s about putting in the effort and not giving up at the slightest thing,” she said.
That determination shows how much she’s grown over the years. A big part of her support system has been her teacher, Mrs Nugent. London explained, “She’s always been really supportive and nice, knows the right things to say, and helps you get the help you need.”
Having someone like Mrs Nugent in her life has helped her overcome challenges, and has given her someone she can talk to if she needs. Looking ahead, London is focused on her future in nursing. She’s committed to Mesa University and plans to get her CNA next semester so she can work while in college.
While London has many dreams for the future, her biggest dream is to specialize in labor and delivery nursing. She has a passion for helping people, and wants to take that passion outside of high school with her. It’s clear she’s ready to make a real impact in healthcare.
High school has taught London many things, but most importantly, it has shaped how she treats people. London has grown a lot since her freshman year, and she has overcome challenges and has gotten past some hard things. She always comes out with a smile on her face and is always determined to work hard.
“I’ve learned a lot about the way people act and how to treat others. I’ve always wanted to be nice and treat people well,” she reflected. That kindness and understanding are part of what makes her stand out.
When it comes to school traditions, London’s favorite is the senior jeans day, those moments that create lasting memories with friends. Speaking of friends, she’s learned she can “get along with anyone,” a skill that will surely help her stay connected after graduation.
London Smith’s senior year story is one of hard work, support, and kindness, a great example of what it means to finish strong and look ahead with hope.
