On Tuesday, November 11, Frederick High hosted a leadership workshop that brought together students from Student Council, Latino Leadership, Sources of Strength, and Link Crew. The workshop was led by a guest lecturer.
The event gave students a space to connect, open up, and learn how to be better leaders. Throughout the meeting, everyone joined in group discussions, team building activities, and conversations about what our school needs and how we can make it better.
Senior Jami Martinez-Avita said, “[We] created a circle, played games, interacted with everyone, and they thought it was fun, and they felt like a better person after it and learned from it.”
Jami said that the activities helped everyone feel more comfortable and connected. Senior Cassandra Michel also shared her thoughts. She said, “[We] talked about our community and how to be there for each other and made sure we are checking in on one another. I liked it and feel like I’m a better leader after being in that meeting.”

Overall, the meeting left a lot of students feeling more confident and motivated to support each other. It showed how important it is for us to stay connected and look out for our school community. Events like this remind us that when students come together, we can actually make a difference at Frederick High.
