Every year, the Grammy Awards bring together the world’s biggest stars for a night of celebration and recognition. But the 2025 ceremony wasn’t just about who took home the trophies—it was about unforgettable performances, emotional speeches, and the ever-present anticipation of surprises.
From chart-topping hits to standout newcomers, the night proved once again that the Grammys are more than just an awards show—they’re a cultural moment, capturing the pulse of the music industry. With jaw-dropping collaborations and a few unexpected twists, this year’s event kept viewers on the edge of their seats until the very end.
Every year the Grammys chooses someone special to host — this year the Grammys had comedian, producer and writer Trevor Noah host for the fifth time. Trevor Noah is most famously known for his breakout to society as the former host for Comedy Central’s late night program, The Daily Show, from where he began the start of a successful career.
The Grammys had many special performances by big artists such as Benson Boone, Billie Eilish, Chappell Roan, Lady Gaga and many more! There were multiple different presenters for the awards as well, with celebrities such as Taylor Swift, SZA, Olivia Rodrigo and more presenting the prestigious awards.

That night was a huge success for female artists, but also for Kendrick Lamar, who had taken home 5 wins, the most of any artist. He won all five Grammys for his diss track on Drake “Not Like Us.”
Beyoncé’s comeback was one of the many women, finally gaining the Best Album award and Best Country Album award for her latest album Cowboy Carter; this made her the first Black women this century, and fourth in history, to win album of the year.
Chappell Roan was yet another female artist who won a Grammy, winning the Best New Artist award after her viral hits and sold out shows. Though many artists left empty handed, such as Charli xcx and Billie Eilish, who were told they were walking away with what most would consider their “most prominent works to date.” Even after Billie Eilish’s 7 nominations, and her single “BIRDS OF A FEATHER” reaching the number two spot on the Billboard Top 100, she walked away empty handed. The same goes for Taylor Swift, with only 6 nominations. This was the first Grammys show in a while that Taylor Swift lost in all categories.
While the night ended well, the Grammys are hardly anything without a bit of drama. It was reported that the rapper, Kanye West, and his girlfriend, Bianca Censori, had arrived at the Grammys which seems fine… until people realized they weren’t actually invited. Them showing up uninvited was not the biggest problem though. Bianca Censori later stripped her jacket off to reveal a dress made of transparent hosiery with nothing else on underneath. Just a few hours after the scandalous couple arrived, rumors had been flying around saying that Kanye and Bianca were escorted out of the event by police.
In regards to the devastating, historic fires that tore through Los Angeles, the Grammys decided to talk about the tragedy and use the show as a way to donate to the cause. The show opened with a special performance by the Los Angeles band— Dawes, two brothers who had lost their home in the recent fires. Sheryl Crow, John Legend, Brad Paisley, and Brittany Howard joined the two to perform a song by Randy Newman, “I love LA.” The host, Trevor Noah also mentioned the fundraiser throughout the show and ended up earning $7 million in donations.
This years award show was definitely one for the books, having a lot of amazing performances, awards, and entertainment. While the outcome did raise some controversy, the awards were all given to deserving people and drew in a lot of viewers.
