Julissa Solorzano, Social Media Manager

Julissa is a senior at Frederick High who has rejoined the Lantern staff for her second year after a gap year. During her first year on staff, she managed The Lantern’s social media. Julissa is also involved in the Biomedical Foundations program and enjoys exploring new countries and learning new languages.  After high school, Julissa plans to enroll in a postsecondary medical program to become a certified nurse anesthetist.

“I think right now we are we’re doing better with the visibility for Hispanic kids, there’s allways room for improvement. As we move forward and we know there’s a need we are getting more resources for our kiddos. I know there are some new commers that are completely new to it, we don’t have a perfect system but there’s resources for them and there’s student like you fully bilingual,and then there’s others like myself in the middle.
