In 2021 Olivia Rodrigo Released her album SOUR, but now with her album GUTS, everyone has begun to wonder if SOUR was a one-hit wonder and why she changed so drastically.

Olivia, Rodrigo’s album, SOUR, truly represented the title. It was an era in Olivia‘s life where she was sour, her album hit close to home for many people. Her fan base began to grow through this album. SOUR was about her heartbreak and loneliness. Her new album GUTS, just makes you wanna puke your guts out. It doesn’t represent anything but a pure mess. Not many people can relate to the songs in GUTS.

Clearly, Olivia Rodrigo’s style in music changed drastically in the span of two years, GUTS has little to no resemblance to SOUR. When you listen to her album SOUR you’re able to relate to one of the many songs, the topic, the style. GUTS on the other hand is a total catastrophe to some.

The only thing in common these two albums have is the first song that was published hit the Hot 100 Billboard after 15 days of being Released.

The song “Drivers License” by Olivia, Rodrigo was the first to be released in her album, SOUR. The first song released for the album GUTS was “Vampire”. Although this song has become somewhat popular, and even hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100, after 15 days of being released. It has nothing in comparison to Drivers License, lasted as number one much longer than Vampire. Driver’s license lasted eight weeks as the number one song in the Billboard Hot 100. The song Vampire has dropped quickly.

Olivia, Rodrigo, second song that was released in her first album was Good for You, This song made number one on the Billboard Hot 100, but Olivia Rodrigo, second song “Bad Idea” was truly a bad idea, this song was on the Billboard Hot 100 but will soon drop out of the top 100. The song itself has been criticized by many, it didn’t last in the Billboard Hot 100 top 10.

The Release of Olivia Rodrigo’s Album SOUR was aimed at a public who were in denial and had hope for their previous or current relationship, it could be said that it was her “Soft Girl” (A cute more feminine personality).

This soft girl gets a hard edge in her new album GUTS. This Album isn’t attracting the same audience she had from her previous release. Some might say changing her style was social suicide. But it gives some insight into the new and future Olivia.

Olivia Rodrigo tried rebranding herself after a year, Is she copying Taylor Swift? Is this the style of music she will produce from now on?

Taylor Swift a famous artist grew her fan base after changing the style of music she would write. It doesnt seem to be the same case for Olivia Rodrigo, she has had hate from fans. Those who used to call themselves Olivianators dont support her new style. Taylor Swift was in peoples hearts for so long with her previous style that the swifties grew with Taylor music. Olivia Rodrigo’s fan base hadn’t been established for long, causing fans to turn on her with the first change she made.

It could be considered a mistake to have been in the music industry for less than five years as a big artist and making a big change. Most artist ease their fans into the change but Olivia let her confusion and anger get ahold of her.

What stage of grief should we expect from Olivia next.
