Allison McCormick’s years at Frederick High School are coming to an end but the memories she made and the impact she had on fellow students won’t be forgotten. The words “No regrets, only memories,” by F1 driver Daniel Ricciardo isn’t just her favorite quote, but a map for how she’s spent her time at Frederick High School.

Since her Freshman year, Allison has taken a number of AP classes, including AP Human Geography, AP Seminar, APUSH, AP Government, AP Calculus. AP Chemistry and AP Psychology. While also taking Culinary Arts at CETC, earning credits through Metropolitan State University Denver before taking extra classes through Aims Community College.

“Out of all of the classes my favorites were APUSH, AP Stats, and AP Chemistry. APUSH was always so intriguing and Mr. Wellington always made the class feel welcoming and a place to ask endless questions. AP Statistics was a class where I could finally apply math to the real world and the career I am planning to go into. In addition Mrs. Vail grew to be my favorite teacher because of her kindness and ability to teach the subject. Finally AP Chemistry has pushed me in so many ways and Mr. Clapp has been such a big support along the way.”

Allison has been an exemplary academic student, maintaining a high GPA through all four years at Frederick. While keeping a balance between academics and extracurriculars, Allison has managed swimming since her sophomore year by helping the team with stats, recruiting and event management. In the spring, Allison participated in soccer, making JV her freshman year before making varsity her junior year, playing various field positions as well as being a goalkeeper.

She has participated in many clubs including Student Council, a member of National Honor Society (becoming the Service Coordinator her junior year), and finally is an active member of the Frederick Lantern.

After all of her four years of club and academic involvement, Allison has left a big impact on Frederick High School. Filling her schedule to the top, Allison always had a smile on her face and a hand to help her friends.

She is still debating on where to continue her education after graduation, she has applied to many different out of state schools; she has been accepted into 12 and is waiting for the 7 others. “All of the schools I applied to have programs in Business or Sports Management, have high level athletics, and have good campus communities. I am hoping to major in Business or Sports Management to pursue a career in Major League Sports.”

If Allison could say one thing to Frederick and the incoming Freshman it would be, “…try anything and everything, even if you think you might fail. Take on challenges, ease into the uncomfortable, and surround yourself with people that make you happy and support you. Make the most of your time here, four years goes by a lot faster than you think it will.”

Allison McCormick has made a long lasting impact on the Frederick staff, community and her friends. She will go onto making a great impact at college and her many years after that.
