Super Bowl LVI was long-awaited, but not as long as the amazing throwback’s halftime show. Some of the most popular artists from the ’90s era made an appearance at the Super Bowl LVI halftime show. People have been waiting for a throwback collab in the music industry. Eminem, Mary J. Blige, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dog, Kendrick Lamar, and a surprise appearance from 50 Cent, went down in history at the Super Bowl LVI halftime show.

The music each artist performed during the halftime show was legendary, each had their own spotlight to perform one of their hits. Each song continued into the next artist’s song very smoothly and it was so cool to see each song play out. The performance went really well: each had their own piece, whether it was Snoop Dog and Dr. Dre performing together or Mary J. Blige having her spotlight.

Though the showing was outstanding, some say they expected more. The show had so much thrill and excitement people were on the edges of their seats while the iconic artists were performing.  The “stage” itself was kind of basic and plain, where some people were expecting something a little bit different and a little bit more. Even though the setup didn’t have a super big theme, everything matched up perfectly. Whether it was the car, flooring, “stage”, or even the piano Dr. Dre played on. Though the color scheme was basic, it made it possible to match each artist and their music. Especially with the throwback music, it wasn’t super extra and overwhelming but it still felt like there was something missing.

Along with the setup each artist has their own style even though they all had hits in the same era. Each of their outfits fit so well with each other and the setup, while continuing to match their own styles and personalities. Whether it was Eminem’s plain t-shirt, hoodie, and jeans to Mary J. Blige’s stylish white bodysuit with her boots.

I really enjoyed the halftime show, it gave me goosebumps seeing each artist perform. I liked the song choices that each artist sang as well as their outfits. I definitely think they could’ve had a better setup for the stage. Also, I kind of was expecting a little bit more for the music performance and hype. But overall I think the showing was outstanding.

Overall, I recommend anyone looking for some ’90s throwback music to take a look at the Super Bowl LVI halftime show if you haven’t already seen it.
