The Frederick Cheer Team getting ready for the season.

Darlene Strange, Staff Writer

Is this your first year of high school or even your last year but you just want to get involved to feel a part of Frederick High Schools community? Well now’s your chance. Frederick offers
many sports and clubs to help the students feel like they’re welcome and to help them make
friends. That is the real goal at Frederick.
First we will start off with clubs that you can join through the year. Clubs that you can join for
after school are key club, anime club, broadcasting club, FHS leader academy, warrior time,
robotics club, forensics club, FCA club, GSA, FBLA, art club, D&D club, board game club, green
club and many more. These clubs are meant for everyone you don’t need any specific skills to
join. There are a variety of clubs for a variety of people.
Co-Curricular is when the “club” is during the school day which you take as a class. This means
that you would have the class during the day and would still have meetings after school. For
example yearbook you have the class during the day and then you go take pictures after school
for it. These Co-Curricular classes are Yearbook, Band, Orchestra, Choir, NHS, StuCo, Music.
Fall sport: Unfortunately due to COVID we had to take a pause with some of the sports however
some still are happening. The fall sports are B & G Cross Country, Football, B Golf, B Soccer,
Softball, B Tennis, G Volleyball, Cheer, Dance.
Winter sport: Winter sports we can have some hope for. The sports include B Basketball, G
Basketball, Wrestling, G Swim.
Spring sports: Spring sports include Baseball, G Golf, G Soccer, G Tennis, B & G Track
Getting involved in sports is a great way to meet friends and get to know people in your
community. I recommend going to the Frederick High School website and looking deeper into
the sports that you’re considering to do
