Fans Are Headed Back
Rockies fans are coming back to Coors Field for this first time this year.

Rockies fans headed back to Coors Field for the first time in seven months! The Rockies’ 31st home opener will be Thursday at Coors Field. The first pitch against the Washington Nationals will be thrown out at 2:10 p.m. After playing their first six games on the road in San Diego and Los Angeles, the Rockies will now play their next seven games at Coors Field.
Thursday, April 6 – Washington Nationals at 2:10 p.m.
Friday, April 7 – Washington Nationals at 6:40 p.m.
Saturday, April 8 – Washington Nationals at 6:10 p.m.
Sunday, April 9 – Washington Nationals at 1:10 p.m.
Monday, April 10 – St. Louis Cardinals at 6:40 p.m.
Tuesday, April 11 – St. Louis Cardinals at 6:40 p.m.
Wednesday, April 12 – St. Louis Cardinals at 1:10 p.m.
The Rockies have a bunch of pregame festivities as they usually do including the U.S. Armed Services Honor Guard, presentation of center field flag with first responders, the National anthem by Stellar Brass with Technical Sergeant Kayla Richardson and a planned flyover conducted by 140th Wing of the Colorado Air National Guard.
The first game of the opening day Rockies had a close win 1-0. Here is an opening day timeline. In my opinion, it’s so much fun.
7:00 a.m. – The O.G. at McGregor Square opens
8:00 a.m. – Mile Post Zero at McGregor Square opens
8:30 a.m. – Tom’s Watch Bar at McGregor Square opens
9:00 a.m. – Coors Field parking lots open
11:00 a.m. – Opening Day festivities presented by Coors Light begins at McGregor Square

There’s a couple new additions to Coors Field for the new season. Here’s what to expect. New Food Options, Sandlot Summer Session, Brewed in celebration of the Rockies 30th Anniversary: a session IPA brewed with Citra & Centennial hops this beer has a citrus hop flavor with a nose of pine and slight bitter backbone. Balanced light malt sweetness. Available at limited locations and within the Sandlot Brewery at Coors Field only.
Green Chili Cheese Fries. Shoestring potato french fries, green pork chili, shredded cheddar jack cheese & Wisconsin breaded cheese curds. BBQ Chicken and Mac Sandwich. Potato brioche bun, pulled chicken, original BBQ Sauce & white cheddar macaroni and cheese. Smores Shake. Chocolate ice cream, ON TOP® marshmallow topping, graham crackers, & snack size Hershey chocolate bar. Doritos Walking Taco. Doritos chips, green chili queso, jalapenos, pico de gallo, and your choice of carnitas or chicken tinga. Peach Chimmies. Flour tortilla, whipped cream cheese, sliced peaches, cinnamon sugar mix, caramel syrup, topped with whipped cream
Empanadas. Steak filled empanada, chimichurri aioli sauce alongside a lime wedge. Stuffed Tater Kegs. Jumbo cheese stuffed tater tot with boom boom sauce. Jumbo buffalo chicken stuffed tater tot with ranch dip. Berry Waffle Cone. Large waffle cone, raspberries, blueberries, ricotta cannoli filling, lemon rhind for garnish.
New food additions are always the best.
Prepare for your trip to Coors Field with a couple of things to know:
- For the easiest entry on Opening Day, fans are strongly encouraged to arrive at least one hour early and plan to be in their seats by 1:15 p.m., as Opening Day pregame ceremonies begin promptly at 1:30 p.m.
- All Rockies tickets are digital in 2023. Fans are encouraged to access their digital tickets before they head to the game. Download the MLB Ballpark app on your smartphone for ticket access.
- Clear members can enter through a dedicated lane located at Gate C. In addition, fans can enroll for clear stadium access at Gate C free of charge for use of the lane on Opening Day and throughout the season.
- Only single-pocket, medical, and diaper bags that are no larger than 16”x16”x8” can be brought into the ballpark. Backpacks and other multi-pocket bags, including multi-pocket purses, are not permitted. All permitted bags will be subject to search.
- Coors Field is a cashless facility. Apple Pay is accepted in all ballpark retail and concession locations.
If you ever have the opportunity to go to opening day for any team, I strongly suggest it because it’s so much fun.
