April 11, 2023
The 2023 Masters golf tournament always promises and never disappoints to be an exciting event for golf enthusiasts worldwide. The tournament took place from April 6th to April 9th, 2023, at the Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia. This historic event draws in crowds from all over the world, as it is one of the most prestigious golf tournaments in the world.
The Masters is one of the four major championships in professional golf, and it is the only major championship held annually at the same location. The tournament has a rich history, dating back to 1934, and it has become one of the most coveted titles in golf. The tournament is known for its iconic green jacket, which is awarded to the player who wins the tournament.
One of the most exciting aspects of the 2023 Masters is the field of competitors. The tournament is invitation-only, and the field is limited to the top players in the world. The world’s top-ranked players all battled it out for the coveted green jacket, including defending champion Scottie Schefler who was on a tear last year, and won the 2022 Masters.
The Augusta National Golf Club is one of the most iconic golf courses in the world. The course is known for its beautiful scenery, challenging holes, and pristine conditions. The course has undergone several changes over the years, including the addition of new tee boxes, greens, and bunkers. These changes have made the course even more challenging for the players, and it will be interesting to see how they navigate the course in 2023.
Another super exciting aspect of the 2023 Masters is the fans. The tournament was played without fans in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and it was played with limited fans in 2021. However, the 2023 Masters was played with a full capacity crowd, which added to the excitement and atmosphere of this great tournament and great weekend. The fans at Augusta National are known for their knowledge and appreciation of the game, and it’s always great to see the fans supporting every single golfer on the course, which is what they did.
The man who has been on a tear this year Jon Rahm was the player who ended up pulling through and wearing the green jacket out of Augusta. Jon played a great 4 days of golf and ended up pulling himself above Brooks Koepka who led the tournament all weekend. While Brooks shot a 75 on the final round and Jon shot a 69 and beat Brooks by 4 strokes.
This tournament had a massive storm that suspended both the second and third round of play and caused three massive trees to blow over, and Jon handled these conditions the best as he was poised and confident in his ability to win this great tournament.
One of the coolest traditions of the Masters tournament is the Champions dinner which is hosted by the defending champion of the Masters tournament and past champions are invited to attend the dinner. Jon Rahm will enjoy getting to host this dinner and choose the menu next year.
