On January 20, 2021, the United States took another step forward with Joe Biden’s being inaugurated as the 46th president of the United States. The day consisted of high spirits, excitement, joy, and most importantly extravagant celebrities. Many worldwide known singers and celebrities offered to be at the inauguration in support and love of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. Some of the celebrities to attend Biden’s inauguration included Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez, Garth Brooks, Tom Hanks, Foo Fighters, John Legend, Bruce Springsteen, Demi Lovato, Justin Timberlake, Katy Perry, and many more. With amazing performances and speeches given, there was so much to take away from this day.

The inauguration started with Lady Gaga performing the national anthem live in front of millions of people watching on television. It then continued to show many other performers who took the stage like Jennifer Lopez who gave a stunning vocal performance, Amanda Gorman a national youth poet laureate gave a beautiful poem about the “Development of all that we can become.”, John Legend gave a wonderful performance as always, and many other amazing stars.

In my opinion, the stars of the whole ceremony were Justin Timberlake and Ant Clemons. The two of them performed their new song “Better Days” which is all about how we can look forward to a better time in our country rather than looking back in the past. It’s a powerful song with a great meaning that was performed amazingly.

To top things off for many of these celebrities it was nice to see them at the inauguration especially since so many of them had been voicing their support of Joe Biden and his campaign since the beginning of the election. Justin Timberlake as one example posted a throwback picture of his young self and captioned it:

“To anyone out there, who is voting for the first time, who thinks their vote doesn’t matter, or who doesn’t trust the process, the pop superstar assures you that you can.”

The father of two then continued to encourage people to vote by giving people plenty of reasons on why their vote matters by sending out messages/ posts captioned:

“This is about our children growing up in a world where racism is condemned, not tolerated, It’s about ensuring that women are empowered everywhere decisions are being made. We have to vote so we don’t go backwards.”

He wasn’t the only one to do this either. Miley Cyrus was another famous artist who showed her support throughout Biden’s campaign. At one point she even posted an Instagram live video with Kamala Harris showing her followers and more that she was in support of Biden’s Campaign. Alongside that John Legend was yet another artist to go and voice his support by continuously voicing his opinion through his Twitter and Instagram page.

Joe Biden’s inauguration was a beautiful ceremony. It consisted of a ton of amazing celebrities showing their support and standing by Biden’s side throughout all of the hardships. Between the performances and Biden’s inauguration it’self the whole thing was amazing and truly incredible to be able to watch. One thing that can be said for sure is that it’s exciting to see what the future is going to hold for us with Joe Biden as our new president.
