Black Phone 2 has made a comeback and came to theaters on October 17, 2025, and is now available for digital purchase as of November 4, 2025. This movie has made $120 million worldwide. The director of this movie is Scott, who does a great job displaying the plot for the movie. The original Black Phone came out June 24, 2022, and has since gained many fans.
On opening weekend, this movie grossed $27.3 million domestically and $42.8 million globally. The movie’s runtime is only a few minutes longer than the first, which is an hour and 53 minutes. The movie stays interesting and has many different events that happen to try and keep the audience entertained.
The reviews on this movie are mixed to positive, with many viewers enjoying it more than the first film, while others seem to find it a somewhat weaker sequel. Overall this has a generally favorable rating with 6.3/10 on IMDb.
The characters from the first Black Phone, Finney, The Grabber, Gwen, Miguel Mora, and Terrence, have all made a return for Black Phone 2, except now Finn is 17 years old, Gwen is now facing new horrors, and instead of having Miguel playing Robin, he plays his brother, Ernesto.
The acting is good, almost top-notch. They act out very well and play their roles amazingly, although there were some parts that weren’t acted as well, but overall, this is good acting. They do well with the fights where Gwen can only see the souls of the victims, while the others can’t.
Black Phone 2 is about how bad dreams come to haunt 15-year-old Gwen, the sister of Finn. She receives calls from the black phone and sees disturbing visions of three boys who were past victims being stalked at a winter camp called Alpine Lake.
They then head to the camp with her brother Finn, and they try to solve the mystery, only to confront the Grabber—a killer who has grown even more powerful in death and seeks revenge on Finney for killing him.
This movie is way more graphic than the first and also has things such as strong violent content, gore, teen drug use, and language. For those who like horror, action, mystery, suspense, etc., this movie is definitely for you. This movie has a lot of blood being shown and is showing a lot of violence. For those who don’t like gore and are sensitive to certain things, don’t watch this movie.
Age-wise, I would recommend this to people who are in high school, maybe 8th grade, but I feel that high schoolers should watch this movie because this has a lot of gore, and in the movie they mention things such as drug use and a lot of curse words, so I would not recommend this to kids because of all this stuff in the movie. High schoolers should be mature enough to watch this movie.
