This summer is looking to have some very promising movies for the next two months. Ranging from superhero movies to action adventures, there is something for everyone this coming summer.
Superman (July 11)
Superman (David Corenswet) embarks on a journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent. This will be the first movie in director James Gunn’s new DCU slate and looks to be a return to form for Superman.
Jurassic World (July 2)
Zora Bennett (Scarlett Johansson) leads a team of skilled operatives to the most dangerous place on Earth, an island research facility for the original Jurassic Park. Gareth Edwards will be directing the fourth Jurassic World movie, which has the potential to revive the series.
Nobody 2 (August 15)
Assassin Hutch Mansell(Bob Odenkirk) takes his family on a vacation to the small tourist town of Plumerville, which find them in the crosshairs of a bloodthirsty crime boss. This movie will be a good action film mimicking works like John Wick since the director, Timo Tjahjanto, is known for his thrilling action movies.
Weapons (August 8)
When almost every child in a classroom mysteriously disappears one night, all at the same time, a town is left questioning what is behind this. This is directed by Zach Cregger, who also directed Barbarian, which makes this film look very promising for anybody looking for a new horror movie to watch.
The Fantastic Four: First Steps (July 25)
The Fantastic Four face their most daunting challenge yet as they try to keep Earth from being Galactus’s next meal. This movie is the long-awaited return to the big screen for the Fantastic Four since the 2015 revival that flopped.
Bambi: The Reckoning (July 25)
After a mother and son get in a car crash, they find themselves being hunted by Bambi, a deer looking for revenge for the death of his murderer. This is another movie in the long line of public domain horror films that have been coming out recently. It looks to be a movie that you can go to for a very good laugh, but not any deep level of storytelling.
F1 (June 27)
Retired F1 driver Sonny Hayes(Brad Pitt) makes a return to racing, where the rookie hotshot Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris) teaches him that the road of redemption can not be travelled alone. This movie looks very promising for not just fans of racing but also fans of redemption stories.
