German motors made an announcement on April 29 that around 600,000 cars, trucks and SUVs needed to be recalled. The vehicles that are part of the recall have engine issues, due to problems assembling the cars. These engines have a manufacturing defect: “The connecting rod and/ or crankshaft engine components in these vehicles may have manufacturing defects that can lead to engine damage and engine failure, according to the recall notice”.
In a car, the connecting rod is a crucial part of a reciprocating engine that links the piston to the crankshaft. The connecting rod is very important for the car to work properly, connecting everything together.
If you have a GM vehicle some indicators that your engines might have these problems are hearing or knocking from the engine, having issues with shifting, or having reduced proportion.
The following models are subject to the recall:
- 2021-2024 Cadillac Escalade
- 2021-2024 Cadillac Escalade ESV
- 2021-2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
- 2021-2024 Chevrolet Suburban
- 2021-2024 Chevrolet Tahoe
- 2021-2024 GMC Sierra 1500
- 2021-2024 GMC Yukon
- 2021-2024 GMC Yukon XL
For anyone that owns any of these cars, it is important to take the recalled car to a Cadillac, Chevrolet, or GMC dealership for an engine inspection and engine repair for free. It is important to get it checked out as soon as possible so nobody is in danger.
This comes in similarity with the Tesla cybertruck recalls, where a piece of the Cybertruck is easily able to be removed, causing concern for many users. Many of these recalls are concerning people who drive these vehicles, causing great concern.
