Frederick’s girl’s volleyball team faced Mead on Tuesday, October 15. Mead’s volleyball team mopped the floor for the 4th year in a row with 3 sets won and 0 for Frederick. Despite losing their rivalry game, Frederick faithful’s spirits are high as senior night approaches.

Meanwhile, JV was also put behind by a set, with a score of 20 points that period. JV’s highest score streak was 5 points, while Varsity one-upped them with 6 consecutive points.
The second set determined the outcome of JV’s game, as they played best of 3 instead of best of 5. Unfortunately, they lost the set, sending them home with a tragic loss of 0-2, but not before scoring another 20 points, giving them a combined score of 40, while Mead was just 10 above, at 50.
While on an interview with the Golden Eagle Broadcast Network, an unnamed player mentioned that they lacked communication in the first set and that adapting to different teams is a large weakness they have.
In the second set, Frederick Varsity player Marisol Tembrock scored 3 aces in a row, shining a light on Mead’s lack of defense. The set, as mentioned earlier, was a loss for Frederick but was still a great learning opportunity for the team. They made Mead fight for it, ending at 16 points. Frederick accumulated 37 points among these 2 sets, while Mead was still ahead at 50 points.
In the third and unfortunate final set of the game, Varsity went home with the loss, placing them 9-10, unbalancing their win-to-loss ratio. They scored a total of 16 points that set, with a total of 53 points throughout the game.
