Several businesses in Frederick, Firestone, and Dacono are changing business hours or even shutting their doors in response to the outbreak of COVID-19. Here is a list of all the local business affected by the virus:

  • King Soopers has decided to reduce their hours of operation to 7 AM to 8 PM in response to the outbreak, including the location in Firestone. As grocery stores see high volumes of people, the shift in hours will hopefully prevent their employees and customers from infection (a King Soopers employee in Denver tested positive for COVID-19 this morning). The Safeway in Frederick has not changed its hours. The CDC recommends that, to reduce the chance of infection, only one person per family should do the shopping or that groceries should be ordered online and delivered to reduce the number of people in grocery stores at any one time.
  • The High Plains Library District has closed their locations in Firestone and Erie until further notice. All library programs, events, classes, and meetings are canceled as well. Until they reopen, all checked out materials will not expire and they will not accept any returns. The HPLD encourages patrons to use their online resources, such as Kanopy (for free movie streaming) and Hoopla (for free music streaming). The Longmont Public Library is also closed.
  • All Carbon Valley Recreational Facilities are closed, and all programs are canceled until further notice. If you are a member, you will still see automatic withdrawals from your bank account during this shutdown, but you will be credited for these weeks at the end of your subscription.
  • The Back 9 at Bella Rosa is temporarily closed to the public. The Bella Rosa Golf Course currently remains open.
