What Warner Bros. is calling the final film in the series is based on the final investigations by the real-life Warrens into the Smurl haunting in 1986. While Wilson and Farmiga still shine as the heart of the franchise, the slow pacing and convoluted storyline demonstrate why the franchise is on its deathbed. (Warner Bros./New Line Cinema)
