October has kicked off with a haunting start, with all of the spooky activities that teenagers can attend to. Colorado has some of the best Halloween activities for people to attend, some of these including haunted houses and the Stanley Hotel.
Teenagers strive to do haunted Halloween activities with their friends, and luckily, Colorado is home to many.
While scary activities aren’t everybody’s favorite, there are some more family friendly activities for people to enjoy.
Pumpkin Patches
Everybody can find something to do at pumpkin patches, whether it’s going through a corn maze, finding pumpkins to carve and decorate, or just going for the fall vibes, pumpkin patches have a little something for everyone.
There are various pumpkin patches throughout Colorado, including one of the most well known and popular, Anderson Farms. Anderson Farms is home to Terror in the Corn, a haunted corn maze which is a more scary activity people can partake in if they choose.
While Anderson Farms is fun to attend, the crowds there can get pretty hectic. The lines wrap around the roads leading up to Anderson Farms, making it harder for people to get in. If Anderson Farms is not something that interests people, the other pumpkin patches in Colorado include Miller Farms, Lone Creek Farms, Fritzler Farm, and many more.
Oktoberfest Train
The Oktoberfest Train takes people through the Royal Gorge Route Railroad, offering many fall sights to see. This train runs until November 1st, giving people a fun ride and dine experience. The route will give riders views to Colorado’s Grand Canyon, the Arkansas River, and more.
Boo at the Zoo
A family favorite for many, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo hosts Boo at the Zoo, a fun experience for people of all ages. This activity is packed with fun spooky surprises for the family to enjoy and is a unique way for families to enjoy the Halloween activities.
While Colorado has many family friendly Halloween activities to attend, there are some more haunted attractions for people to attend that want more of a scare this Halloween season.
The Stanley Hotel
One of the most well known attractions in Colorado, The Stanley Hotel in Estes Park offers so many haunted tours and activities. Guests can choose one of these options for their haunted tours;
Frozen Dead Guy Tours
This tour takes people through the Ice Houses, which have a chilling setting. It provides information and gives people an unforgettable experience.
The Shining Tours
One of the most popular tours that is offered at the Stanley hotel, is an indoor/outdoor tour through the west side of the hotel campus. There is tons of information about Stephen King, history of the hotel, and spooky stories. This is definitely a tour people won’t want to miss out on. It also takes people to the Shining Suite, which was where The Shining was filmed.
Night Tours
For an even more haunting experience, the hotel offers night tours. This tour takes guests through the dark and spooky edges of the hotel, and is an immersive experience to get to know more about the history of the haunted hotel.
Historic Hotel Tours
For anyone that just wants to learn about the history of the hotel, they can partake in the history tours. These tours give information about F.O Stanley, his wife, Stephen King, and more. This tour is a great way to learn more about the history of The Stanley Hotel.

For people who are really in for a scare this October, Denver’s 13th floor haunted house is definitely the place to go. Ranked in the top 5 most terrifying haunted houses in the USA, this haunted house has something to spook everybody.
Elitches Fright Fest
Starting from September 27th- November 2nd, Elitch Gardens hosts Fright Fest. The rides are still open for people to enjoy, while also having scare actors walk around the park to give out a good fright. This is definitely something that roller coaster fans will not want to miss. The park is decorated everywhere with Halloween decorations, and the scare actors do great jobs at frightening the people.
Colorado has so many options for teens to go do throughout October, whether they like really scary things or not, there’s always something for everyone to enjoy.
