Summer has finally arrived! After 9 long months of school, break has finally come. It’s time for students to sleep in and relax with no school. There’s so much to do in this beautiful weather and time off but what can we do?
There are a lot of activities that can be done at home or with friends. The weather is cool and sunny so bring a friend, and enjoy the sunshine and the fun.
Here are 15 ways to spend your Summer
- Playing board games– There’s no better way to have fun with good old board games. Playing with friends or family at home while being in the sun is refreshing.
- Summer Picnic– Grab some friends or family and have a picnic in the park. Bring some food, fruits, board games, and/or drawing supplies. Take whatever games are enjoyable and have fun at the park!
- Read a book– For anyone that finds they have a lot of free time throughout the days, reading a book or series is a great way to pass the time! There are many books to pick from, and reading a series over the summer is a good way to challenge yourself
- Learn a new language– A great way to have fun over summer is to learn a new language. There are countless languages to learn like Spanish, French, Mandarin, Portuguese, and so much more! People can learn with friends and family and have fun with it.
- Build a fort– While forts might seem like a childish activity, they can be really fun to make with friends or family. They are great to make and decorate, giving a nice space to watch a movie or play some games.
- Cook meals– This is the perfect time to learn how to cook or cook a favorite meal for family or friends. Cooking alone or with the help of a friend or family member can be a great way to spend summer.
- Deep clean a room– This is the perfect time to clean and organize your room. With all the free time students will have over summer, cleaning and organizing their room will help them feel better and be more organized.
- Get a job– Even though summer is about relaxing and having no work to do, getting a job is actually a great way to make new friends, pass time, and earn money.
- Go for walks– Going on walks is beneficial and refreshing. Going bright and early or during the day is a great way to be productive and get some exercise.
- Camping– Being outdoors in nature and having a good view is a great way to spend summer. Playing games outdoors or cooking is a fun way to spend free time. Camping in the backyard is a great fun way to spend summer nights with friends and family!
- Write letters of Gratitude– Acknowledging what you are grateful for can bring a sense of calmness and mindfulness. Expressing gratitude for those you love, is heartwarming and can bring a smile to their face.
- Journaling– Grab a notebook and write down what thoughts. Writing about anything that has been bothering you or whatever comes to mind is a good way to write down thoughts.
- Backyard obstacle course– Building an obstacle course in the backyard can be fun and can be enjoyed at home. Bring some friends and/or family and have fun building and playing with the obstacle course.
- Practice your favorite sport– If you have a favorite sport you’d like to be better at or practice for fun, this is the perfect time to put your skills out there and have fun with friends or yourself.
