Enola Holmes is a fun and thrilling movie. This movie is fast paced, and gives you a mindset to try to solve her problems and mysteries along with her. Enola Holmes is based on a series of books called The Enola Holmes Mysteries by Nancy Springer. Sixteen year old Milly Bobby Brown plays the role of Enola Holmes and plays the role beautifully. Brown plays the role of the sister of Sherlock and Mycroft Holmes. She portrays the role as if it were real life, this movie comes to life, she’s fierce, strong, and independent. The cast of this film work tremendously well together. 

  The setting of this movie is in 1884. Enola is raised alone by her mother after her brothers left on their own and her father died. Her mother raises her to believe that she can do anything and be anyone she believes to be.The movie truly starts when Enola wakes up on her 16th birthday to an unexpected surprise that mother had disappeared. Her brothers Sherlock and Mycroft return home to help find their mother, but they are unpleased with the way Enola seems to be raised. Mycroft decides Enola needs to be sent to a boarding school for girls to reshape her to become proper. But Enola is unpleased with the idea and decides to run away. Throughout the movie Enola notices that everybody, specifically men want to control her life and how she lives it.

  “She’s trying to find who she is while being smothered by her famous last name, trying to find her mother and understand if she likes the boy” said Millie Bobby Brown. Moving on through the movie Enola is trying to find her mother by only the source people her mother knew and just her memory as clues. Enola changes her appearance throughout the movie several times. Enola’s journey is long and messy, towards the middle of the film she is found by her brother Mycroft and sent to the oh so dreaded boarding school. But, it didn’t take her long to escape and continue her journey to find her mother. 

  The ending of the movie is astounding as was the rest of the movie. It left a cliffhanger for the audience to want more. Enola Holmes is just an overall well filmed movie, you could just tell by the characters acting and every aspect that these characters really had a connection outside of filming which made the movie even more interesting. This movie is fast paced so it keeps you on your toes. The scenes when Enola looks at the camera to speak one on one gives the movie a different spin almost like she’s talking to you through the screen. This film is just an all over good film to watch its kid friendly but also still has the aspects of adults being able to love the story. 

  The overall film was stunning and I loved every single second of watching this film. Every scene had something special to do with the movie and characters, it’s almost like you’re trying to solve her mysteries and find her mother with her. Once again the acting in this film is beautiful from every person that plays a role, it puts the movie together so well. This is the type of movie that never will get old watching. All in all this film is a must see. So, grab a blanket and some popcorn and turn on your Netflix and go watch the new Enola Holmes.
