Kate Greiner has been a standout student of the Frederick Student body for the last four years. Participating in an array of AP classes and sports, Kate is about as well rounded as a student can get.
Starting as a freshmen, Kate delved into the world of AP classes with AP Human Geography and she only continued up from there, taking at least two AP classes each year after.
But her overall favorites have been APUSH with Mr. Wellington as a sophomore and AP Euro with Ms. Vogelsberg as a senior.
“APUSH and AP Euro are my favorite classes as I am definitely a huge history buff and I love being able to explore the past from so many different angles!”

But along with being a standout student in academics, Kate is also a part of three varsity sports teams including cross country, girls swim, and girls tennis.
When Kate was a freshman she joined the girls swim team, making it her first high school sports experience. Kate fell in love, joining an additional sports team each year prior making her a three season athlete by her junior year.
Kate exclaimed how, “Being an athlete has helped me so much in terms of growing as a leader and person. It has taught me discipline, perseverance, and dedication. Some of the best people in my life I met through FHS sports, and I couldn’t be more grateful. My decision to join the swim team 4 years ago truly changed my life and made me the person I am.”
Kate was a captain both her junior and senior year for the swim team, making it to the state championships her senior year. While on the team, Kate participated in an array of different events and relays, specializing in distance races such as the 500 free, the 200 free, and the 400 free relay.
One of Kate’s favorite high school memories is from her time with the swim team. Kate said that she always loves “the yearly district cheer at our Loveland swim meets. Each team circles up in the kiddie pool area and takes turns doing the “Do It” chant while splashing water. It is such a fun thing that really creates that team bond and celebrates everyone’s hard work.”
While Kate does not plan on doing sports competitively in college, she does hope to continue athletics at the recreational level.
After high school, Kate will most likely be attending the University of Wyoming and majoring in Speech, Hearing, and Language Sciences to eventually become a speech pathologist.
“I’ve always been interested in a career in the medical field and SLP is a really unique way to be able to help people in all stages of life.”
After all of this work, including receiving a masters degree, Kate is hoping to become a rehabilitation therapist with a focus on inpatient hospital care.
Outside of school, Kate is an avid baker, animal lover, painter, cross stitcher, sewer, and guitar player.
And while at the end of semester Kate will graduate from Frederick, there is one piece of advice she wants to give to incoming students: “Try everything. You never know what activity you might end up falling in love with, and you have so much time in high school to really find where you belong.”
