Ava Jorgensen has almost finished high school and she is grateful to have made so many memories and friends along the way. Ava is going to go to Front Range Community College, while she is currently undecided on what her specific major will be, she is excited for the next step.

Currently, Ava works Peppers Fireside Grill in Frederick. She enjoys working there and plans to stay at the job a little bit longer before she decides if she will get a separate job for the summer and when she starts he studies at aims. Ava is taking life little by little, step by step, making sure to leave time for her to enjoy things how they are.

Ava’s favorite class throughout high school was student council. Ava has been in student council for the two years now and has loved every second. She loves being involved in everything and some of her favorite memories from high school were leading the Rowdy Crowd at the football games for student council.

Jorgensen also had a favorite teacher: Mrs Gittlein, one of the math teachers at Frederick High School. “Mrs Gittlein just understood the teenage perspective and she really had an impact on me.”

For three years, Ava was the manager for the Frederick Girls Volleyball team. She had fun managing the volleyball team, spending time with the other managers and players throughout the seasons.

Throughout high school, Ava has taken a few AP and honors classes including AP Language, and honors math for three years. She is also involved in the CU Succeed program.

Jorgensen says, like many other high school graduates, that her junior year was the hardest because of the all the SAT stress.

Her favorite year was her freshman year because she was exposed to and got to do a lot of new things.

If she could give any advice to anyone just starting in high school it would be this: “Focus on yourself, and not relationships. When you focus on boys it makes life a whole lot harder so it’s just easier to focus on yourself.”

Ava’s biggest role model in life is her dad. “My dad is my biggest role model because he’s gone through so much and he still pushes through and comes home with a smile everyday.”

Ava and her loved ones would describe her as trustworthy and loving due to Ava’s fous on caring about others and creating an environment where others can trust her.

If Ava could go back to her freshman year and change something, she would change take less things for granted. She noted how through freshman year she took a lot of things for granted and she wishes she stopped and enjoyed the little things more.

Ava Jorgensen has made a big impact on Frederick, leaving a positive mark on the school. Her spirit in the Rowdy Crowd, in the classrooms, and in the halls will be deeply missed, but everyone is excited to watch her take her next step.
