QuaranTEEN: Episode One

Kayla Lorimer, Multimedia Producer

The Frederick Scout has partnered with the Frederick Theatre Department to produce QuaranTEEN, a new podcast about teenagers dealing with the COVID-19 epidemic by teenagers dealing with the COVID-19 epidemic. The podcast is produced almost entirely by students recording their lines remotely and editing the final podcast themselves. We’ve detailed a full profile on the making of QuaranTEEN here.

In this episode, high school junior Derek Barnes tries his best to get a date in the middle of a stay-at-home order, but will he still be head over heels in love after he sees her without her personal protective mask? The second story features two twin sisters who can’t stand being in the same room, let alone their father’s isolated mountain cabin for a week. But when the internet goes out, Cassie and Corey have nothing else to do but talk—and discover that sisterhood can survive any pandemic.
