If you’re one of the millions of people on Tik Tok, you’ve probably seen one or two videos regarding the ‘off-menu’ drinks you can order at your local Starbucks. So, after seeing a bunch of these videos on my ‘For You’ page, I decided to try it out for myself. I chose three drinks to try, the Oreo Frappuccino, the Skittles Frappuccino, as well as a Strawberry Açaí Refresher with lemonade, raspberry, and peach flavoring added in.

The first one I tried was a venti Strawberry Açaí Refresher with lemonade, along with four pumps of raspberry and a splash of peach juice. It’s a darker pink color and has dehydrated strawberries. When I initially got it, it was much sourer than I expected, however, it was really good. It’s pretty much the same as a pink drink, just more tart. Like the name, it was refreshing and light, it seemed like a really nice summer drink. Personally, I didn’t think the peach juice added anything, considering I couldn’t really taste it, but the drink was good nonetheless. I would rate this drink an 8/10. If you like lighter drinks, with a fruity taste, this is the drink for you.

The second drink was the Oreo Frappuccino. It is probably the most popular drink shown, and the one that Tik Tok users are raving about the most. It’s essentially a Java Chip Frappuccino blended with white mocha flavoring. It looked like a basic chocolate frappuccino. To be honest, I don’t think the drink lived up to the hype. It didn’t taste any different than the original Java Chip at Starbucks, I really expected more. I personally wouldn’t order this drink again. I would rate this drink 5/10, it wasn’t anything special. If you like chocolate drinks, I would just go for the Java Chip or the original Mocha Frappuccino.

The last drink I tried was the Skittles Frappuccino. It was made up of a grande Strawberries and Creme Frappuccino with three pumps of raspberry and one pump of vanilla, with no classic syrup. I really liked the nice baby pink color, it was all around a fun-looking drink. This drink was really good, although I don’t think it tasted anything like Skittles.  On the contrary, it had a nice light strawberry flavor with a hint of raspberry. It was good, but I wouldn’t necessarily order it again, due to the fact that it’s a fairly long order. I would rate it a 8/10. If you are looking for a fruity drink, that’s not a refresher or a tea, I would recommend this drink.

Overall, I had fun trying the drinks I’ve seen on Tik Tok, but I don’t think any of them really live up to the hype. Due to pricing and the long orders, I don’t think they were as good as everyone made them out to be. It was a fun experience, and it was nice to try the trend out for myself and be the judge of the drinks. If I had to recommend one out of the three I tried, it would be the strawberry acai refresher with lemonade, raspberry, and peach.
